J2A NEWS RELEASE

July 16, 2011

Dear Calvary Family,

The J2A group would like to thank you for all the prayers, well wishes, love, support and enthusiasm you have shown us the last 5 years.  You have also financially supported us through your pledges and contributions to our many fundraisers.  We have had fun selling wreaths, hot dogs, car washes, Butter Braids and doing the play and Spaghetti Dinner.

Without all this support, we would not have been able to go on our Urban Adventure to St. Louis two years ago or make our pilgrimage to New York City.  Our trip to St. Louis allowed us the time to get to know each other extremely well and began the transition from going to church together to becoming friends, at church and outside of church.  We learned the importance of serving the community whether it is Lombard or any where we are.

Our pilgrimage to New York City taught us to look for God in other places besides church.  We learned we can find God in so many ways around us.  We were given the time to reflect, pray and worship outside our normal life.  We worshipped with other Episcopalians.  We made a point of practicing our faith on a daily basis and learned to show our faith to the outside world.  We said grace when we were out at restaurants and were happy to wear our “I Heart Jesus” t-shirts.

You have allowed us to grow into young adults and become more spiritually mature through the love and support you have given us in the last 5 years.      Thank you again!!
